Hello there

At the moment I’m in Lublin, Poland (near the border of Ukraine). WE, 19 students, have a week excursion to Poland for 6 credits for the university. We have to compare the dutch policy with the Polish policy. It’s nice here but busy every day with lectures, visiting sites and stuff.

Last weekend I’v been to Mundial! Which was great! But first, on Friday I went to A’dam to go out with Burning Spear’s band. That was nice. Saturday I went to Mundial with a friend were I met all the people again from Kenya: so Luie Hond, Sarakasi acrobats, the bosses of Sarakasi and so on. That was amazing to see them again! Going backstage and to the VIP rooms. Luie Hond performed amazingly good! It was very nice. After there concert, they played the movie which the Mundial productions made in Kenya. It was weird and nice to see Kenya back.

The next day, I went with another friend to Mundial. Sunday evening Burning Spear was performing. Before them, there were a lot of other nice bands such as a Spaninsh one. After Rudy van Dijck (the unep guy who will arrange my internship) made me almost promise to come to Nairobi, I had to leave earlier otherwise I would have missed the last train. The next day I had to wake up at 7 for another excursion. On Tuesday we left for Poland.

As for now: check the YOUTUBE website cause Burning spear is on it (type in burning spear, Kenya), and I’m in the movie as well: dancing on the background of this young cute little guy who is having fun in dancing and stealing the show.

Alright

That was it then! The great times in Nairobi. It was amazing: have arranged n internship at the UN and all other kinds of great things!

The festival was a great succes! It was amazing to see all the children playing and not worrying about getting food or glue! Saterday was the Jazz day with Hugh Masakela, Mike del Ferro (NL), Ayub Amahli and Harry Kimani. It was kind of like Parkpop in the netherlands.

Sunday it was the regae day with Luie Hond and a local group and after BURNING SPEAR! THe last one is big in Kenya and all the people went crazy. There were as many as people as in the Arena (it was a soccer stadium as well)!  I’m orriginally not a regea fan, but suddenly I became one! It was so great!

NOw I’m back for one and a half week, and then going to Poland for an excursion which I must do for 6 credits.  I will try to put the pics that I have right now on the net.
